Rachel – Handfasting
“I attended a beautiful handfasting officiated by Benjamin many years ago, so when my boyfriend and I decided to get married, he was the natural choice to do the handfasting ceremony. The handfasting was to us much more important than the legal bit at the registry office and it needed to be very special. We had a venue and time in mind – on a beach at Halloween – and also wanted the whole thing kept secret until the day before which was quite a tall order with so much to arrange. Benjamin worked closely with us to produce a moving and poetic ritual which still brings tears to my eyes when I read it. On the day he was extremely organised and professional, arranging everything so that we could just enjoy the day, briefing our few guests on what each needed to do and making things run very smoothly. Everyone felt included and really enjoyed our unusual wedding, which in the darkness with stars overhead, the roar of the sea, glowing fires and flowers was absolutely out of this world. It will always be one of the most memorable days of our lives.”
